Recyclers – Use the process of converting waste materials into new materials and objects.
Trade Centres/ Swap Shops – Is a way to uplift and empower the community. Individuals exchange recyclables for basic household goods.
Buy-Back Centres – Is a way for individuals to earn an income. Business give money for recyclable materials that are dropped off at their premises.
Recycling Points – Are public points where individuals can take their recyclable materials and are dropped off in a large bin. The recycling company will come collect the bins once fulled and use it in their recycling process.
Municipal Drop-off Points – Also know as transfer stations. This is where the public can drop of household and/or commercial waste. The municipal waste department will at a later stage take the waste to a landfill.
Landfills – Also known as a tip, dump, rubbish dump, garbage dump or dumping ground. Is a site for the disposal of waste materials by burial.
Communal Skips – Are common points generally in an improvised area or newly developed areas that does not yet have kerbside collection. Individuals can dump their refuse at these points. The municipal waste department will at a later stage take the waste to a landfill.
